We often receive special requests for custom-designed world maps with thicker dimensions than usual. These requests may entail adjustments to the map's shape or projection, as well as modifications to the material or finish to achieve specific aesthetic preferences. In the case of a recent client from the United States, we accommodated their request by increasing the thickness of the map.
When altering the size, or in this case, the thickness, every aspect of the world map's production must be adjusted to ensure a successful end result. Despite the change in thickness, all other specifications of this Stainless Steel world map remained unchanged. Only the thickness, which was increased by a factor of 1.5 to 2mm, resulting in the map weighing over 50 kg (110 pounds), required modification. This increase in weight necessitates a slightly different approach to the installation kit.
For alterations in weight and shape, we always install each piece separately, allowing us to select the appropriate number and placement of magnets for the installation kit. Once these tests are completed, we will redesign the template and manual, ensuring a seamless installation process for the client at their chosen location.

In the case of this particular map, it was divided into two packages, securely fastened with tie wraps, and sealed with a protective layer to safeguard the surface of the ceramic sanded steel from any damage during transit.
To reinforce the packages and ensure their durability, we often attach additional cardboard profiles to the sides. These profiles provide added strength, guaranteeing that the casings maintain their sturdy shape throughout the shipping process.
